![]() ![]() My husband and I spent 2 nights at the LakeHouse Inn celebrating a retirement and 65th birthday. Can’t wait to be back and already wanting to plan our next trip to LH!… We ate at Firefly and Alta in Lenox, and the District in Pittsfield, and we also went to Balderdash winery. Fantastic location as well, just a few miles from the restaurants and shops in Lenox. The small capacity of the inn makes you feel like a true guest, not just a warm body with a credit card. Oh, and we also enjoyed the fire pit one evening. Breakfast each morning was lovely-choices included blueberry pancakes, French toast, avocado toast, and yogurt with fruit and granola. Also bought my own set on our way out, as they sell them downstairs! This inn truly does focus on the little details in addition to all of the big things that matter. I also appreciated the line of soap/shampoo/etc used in the bathrooms. For example, the bathroom door knob is definitely vintage, but the entire bathroom itself has been completely redone and is honestly just so pretty. The building itself is very old, and the current owners have kept a lot of the vintage charm while making beautiful updates. Nice spot for some wine as you wind down from your day. There’s great deck furniture that was so comfy, I fell asleep in the chair one afternoon as the sun warmed my face. The suite has probably the best view, as it’s on the corner and looking at the main part of the lake. We stayed in the king balcony room, which was on the 2nd floor, and each of the rooms on that floor did have a true lake view. Guests appeared to be all or mostly couples, and everyone just seemed very relaxed and happy to be there. You can get your own cheese plate to enjoy, and it’s just so calm and quiet and perfect. It was from 4-5 pm with the sun shining on the lake, and guests in Adirondack chairs on the lawn. I’m writing this as I sip from my Lakehouse Inn mug, if that tells you anything! What I loved from the first minute we arrived: The photos and descriptions on the website were completely accurate, a candle was burning and had the whole inn smelling wonderful, and wine/cheese hour was about to begin.
